Privacy Policy

Tsʉ̌ ("Tsʉ̌", "we", "us", "our") provides a mobile app and related services that give farmers AI-powered crop monitoring, farm management, and financial tracking tools. This policy explains what data we collect through the Tsʉ̌ app, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have — including how to request deletion of your account and data.
Information we collect
We collect the following categories of data when you create an account and use the app:
- Phone number — used to create your account and log in via a one-time SMS code (OTP). Required.
- Name — used to personalize your account. Required.
- Language preference — used to show the app in English or French.
- Farm location (GPS coordinates) — used to map and identify your farm(s) within the app. Required to add a farm.
- Crop photos — used to run AI detection of crop pests, diseases, and nutrient issues. Required to use the detection feature.
- Financial and payment data — expense/income records you enter, and payment/subscription details processed when you pay for the service. Required for paid features.
We do not use any analytics or advertising tracking software in the app, and we do not collect your data for advertising purposes.
How we use your information
We use the data above only to operate the app's core functionality:
- Authenticating you and keeping your account secure (phone number, OTP)
- Showing your farms and their status (location data)
- Running AI crop detection and generating reports (photos)
- Processing payments and tracking your farm's finances (payment/financial data)
- Sending you SMS alerts about your farm, if you opt in
Who we share your data with
We share limited data with the following third-party service providers, solely to operate the app — never for advertising:
- Africa's Talking — sends SMS messages (OTP login codes and optional farm alerts) to your phone number.
- Cloudinary — stores and serves the crop photos you upload for AI detection.
- Fapshi — processes mobile money payments for paid features.
- MongoDB Atlas — our database provider, which securely stores your account and app data on our behalf.
We do not sell your data to anyone.
Data security
All data sent between the Tsʉ̌ app and our servers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. Your login session is authenticated using industry-standard tokens stored securely on your device.
Data retention
We retain your account and app data for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion (see below), we delete your personal data — including your name, phone number, farm records, and photos — within 30 days. Financial/payment transaction records may be retained for a longer period where required by applicable financial recordkeeping regulations, even after account deletion.
Your rights and how to delete your data
You can request deletion of your Tsʉ̌ account and associated data at any time by visiting tsu-five.vercel.app/request and submitting a deletion request, or by emailing us at usetsu@litapola.org.
Children's privacy
Tsʉ̌ is intended for use by farmers and farm operators and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
